aqua3S

WP1 Project Management and Coordination

Leader: CERTH

Objectives

  • Manage the project to time & budget
  • Co-ordinate activities
  • Monitor the implementation plan
  • Monitor data management and ethics
WP2 User Requirements

Leader: BDI

Objectives

  • To engage the end-users in an effective process to design the use cases.
  • To turn use cases, technological/research and security aspects into specifications of the aqua3S platform.
  • To formulate ethical and legal requirements of the aqua3S platform.
WP3 Enhanced sensing for the water security and safety

Leader: CERTH

Objectives

  • Customise and deliver existing commercial sensors in the water network, providing continuous real-time monitoring of the water systems.
  • Acquire, analyse and deliver data obtained from UAVs, satellites and social media.
WP4 Multi-sensor semantic data fusion for intelligent event detection

Leader: ICCS

Objectives

  • Deliver knowledge management, representation and linking of the collected data
  • Support interoperability and semantic reasoning for decision-making in all use case scenarios
  • Describe the framework of the integration (middleware) layer and multimodal indexing of heterogeneous data
  • Present the aqua3S algorithms for threat detection and localisation in the existing water networks as well as their functionalities in terms of optimisation and parallelisation and finally to introduce a crisis management modelling in the existing water networks
WP5 Early warning & decision support systems

Leader: University of Exeter

Objectives

  • To visualise data obtained from multiple heterogeneous sources to assess and classify water crisis events, and to enhance decision making processes in a unified framework.
  • A system with integrated functionalities serving both the pre-emergency and emergency crisis phase.
  • For the end-users and operators
  • User-friendly with high (3D) visualization features
WP6 Social interaction and communication with the citizens

Leader: CENTRIC

Objectives

  • Raise the social awareness of possible water supply issues
  • Generate and populate public alerts and warning messages
  • Deploy the first responders’ solution and mitigation plans for the pilot water utilities.
WP7 System development and integration

Leader: EVERIS

Objectives

  • Plan the technological roadmap
  • Specify the entire architecture of the platform
  • Define and implement the security framework
  • Integration of the utilities, mechanisms and tools comprising the overall aqua3S platform
  • Specify and develop really interactive user interfaces following a User-Centred approach.
WP8 Pilot implementation, evaluation and training

Leader: AcegasApsAmga

Objectives

  • Manage all preparatory actions for actual implementation of the pilot use cases
  • Describe the application-specific and comprehensive validation framework of aqua3S workflow and platform
  • Present the end-users training processes.
WP9 Policies, Information Management & Standardisation

Leader: EGM

Objectives

  • Identify and explore the current legal framework and relevant standards related to water security and management
  • Develop policy recommendation to improve water security and management
  • Identify the issues with the existing water security standards
  • Identify the political and societal environment in which policy should be implemented
  • Ensure ethics, legal, and societal impacts are brought into pre-standardisation assessment processes
  • Develop guidance for the development and implementation of future of water security standards
WP10 Impact Creation, Dissemination & Εxploitation

Leader: Water Europe

Objectives

  • Ensure and maximise the visibility of the project outputs.
  • Ensure the commercialization and sustainability of aqua3S products and services during and beyond the project’s lifetime.
WP11 Ethics Requirements

Leader: Trilateral Research

Objectives

  • To ensure compliance with the ‘ethics requirements’ set out in this work package.
